My first official job was a cake I made for a couple (best friend’s brother) Mr and Mrs Osaghale a 7tier wedding cake with flowers in yellow and blue. I felt fulfilled because it was well accepted

My greatest challenge in the business is the inability to get workers that are committed and ready to remain with the company. The attrition rate is high and one keeps retraining new workers from time to time. There’s also the problem of power failure

What’s your greatest cake decorating triumph!

I’d consider my ability to satisfy my customers as the results of the skills which I have acquired in and outside Nigeria as my greatest triumph in this career. This has given me a high level of confidence in the job although I’m still open to new ideas

My decorating style is in line with international best practices in the profession. In a nutshell, my designs are creative, elegant, exquisite and customer friendly.

As touching gains/benefits, I’d say the craft has given me the opportunity to meet with all manner of people/experts in the profession from within & outside the country. Also, it’s reasonably profitable. And I derive joy in seeing people that I have trained establishing their own outfits and doing well.

What would you say is one of the biggest lessons you have learnt in your career as a cake designer?

In my career as a Cake designer, I have learnt to be hardworking, innovative & patient because rewards come slowly and steadily.

What’s your most treasured piece of cake decorating tool or kit?

My FMM multi Ribbon cutter and my Wilton nozzles (3, 103, 199 & 354) are most treasured pieces of cake decorating tools
